International Council of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers 6th Gathering
One Life. One Tribe. One Chance.
August of 2009 marks the 6th Council Gathering of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, hosted by Takelma Siletz Grandmother, Agnes Baker Pilgrim, of the Confederated tribes of Siletz.
As the oldest living member of the Takelma tribe, Grandmother Agnes has been honored as a living legend of her tribe. Her accomplishments have included restoring the traditional Salmon Ceremony, and she has been hailed an outspoken “voice for the voiceless." The intention of this gathering is to further honor Grandmother Agnes and her people by holding this Council Gathering at her homeland. Join these wise women as they come together to light the sacred fire and pray for unity and peace for all people.

Not sure yet if I can attend for a few days; I'm expecting many WP members who live in the NW to attend.
Is anyone planning on going?
will be there in spirit
It sounds like a lovely time and my spirit will be with them and sending lots of positive energy! I would love to hear from anyone who goes what it was like for you! Keep us posted about it! It would be something to be at the gathering since it would be awesome to meet her so if you go let us know how it was!
