Top 10 Healthy Pregnancy Tips

From the moment you find out your expecting, your bombarded with what do and what not to do.

You cannot control all aspects of pregnancy. Complications can always occur, to any of us, even in the most seemingly healthy woman. Mo one can predict anything.

However, you can follow these healthy pregnancy tips to ensure that you have the smoothest, most successful pregnancy.

Here are my top 10 healthy pregnancy tips:

1. Get good prenatal care:

The earlier that you receive prenatal care, the healthier you and your baby will be. Prenatal care allows doctors to spot problems when they occur, and possibly remedy them. If the first doctor doesn't make you feel comfortable immediately find another one, don't stick with the first one because a friend recommended it. None of us are the same, you want to be comfortable with the person that has to take you through a hard time.

2. Take folic acid:

Folic acid can lower the risk of birth defects. It’s crucial for pregnant women to take folic acid in the first trimester when the spinal column is forming it also helps your body and bone structure.

3. Eat a balanced diet:

To maximize your chance of having a healthy baby, eat a variety of foods, fruits and vegetables, grains, calcium-fortified foods, meats, and cooked seafood. Junk food that is packed with calories but has very little nutritional content, but if you crave it eat some just don't stock up on it only.

Eating a variety of foods has proven that your little one won't be a fussy eater later in life.

4. Prenatal vitamin:

Even if you do eat a variety of foods, our foods available just don't always have everything you and little one needs. Add nausea and morning sickness to that it becomes hard. That's what prenatal vitamins are for.

You will need to supplement your diet. Your doctor will prescribe the best options in the market and if they make you feel sick don't replace them with an alternative friends recommend having your doctor replace them. What worked for me or her won't necessarily work for you. None of us have the same medical history. Stick to what the doctor says.

5. Stay hydrated:

Drink plenty of water when you’re pregnant. Try to drink eight glasses of water and other fluids every day. This is easy set your mind to it get aBPAfree water bottle. The goal is easier if you only have to finish two or three.

Water will also prevent common pregnancy ailments, like constipation, hemorrhoids, and urinary tract infections.

6. Gain the recommended pregnancy weight.

You should aim to gain the recommended amount of weight for your body size. When you gain more you are at higher risk for complications. Losing weight after pregnancy is also harder, and this can have long-term health complications for you. When you don't gain enough will also have higher risks. Find a happy medium for you, a lot of women have a hard time losing that weight doesn't be so hard on yourself but starving yourself has a lot more complications than you think.

7. Stay fit during pregnancy.

Unless your doctor is against it, you should continue to exercise. A simple daily walk will suffice.

Regular light exercise may even relieve many of your aches and pains, such as backaches – which are common in the second half of pregnancy.

8. Wash your hands:

It's good to learn this habit now when the little one is here you will wash them many times a day. Your immune system is naturally suppressed in pregnancy. Because of this pregnant women are more susceptible to common illnesses and infections during pregnancy. You do not want to get sick.

9. Medication should at all times be approved by your doctor:

Even over the counter medications. Talk to your doctor before you take any medications at all.

Any anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided, they have been linked to causing a number of health problems in pregnancy. Let's face it no one reads every bit of a bottle and the names we have never heard of, you have no idea there is something in there that should be avoided.

10. Get enough sleep:

Everyone tells us this, we think we're Wonder Woman. As much as we want to be, get some sleep.

In the second and third trimesters, when your belly is at its largest, you’ll find that it’s hard to sleep through the night. Sleep on your left side, and use a pregnancy pillow for support. Resting on the left side will improve blood circulation, and it may decrease pregnancy swelling, leg cramps, and other pregnancy discomforts.
