Last week, my entrepreneurial initiative "The Green Bank" was recognized by the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship as one of Africa's outstanding business ideas. The Green bank is a micro-financing model that focuses on specifically funding the planting of fruit trees to pool raw materials for cottage industries. Small holder farmers can eventually buy shares from the Green Bank and cottage industries and have a reliable source of income to improve their overall household income. This helps ordinary families to contribute towards the global menace of climate change while at the same time improving their lives.
