Voices of Our Future Winter 2016 Featured Campaigns

The Winter 2016 session of Voices of Our Future is officially complete! For two months, women leaders from around the world worked hard to gain digital skills that will allow them to amplify their vision and ignite change in their communities. The program culminated in each leader presenting a Digital Action Campaign in which they address  a pressing issue and recommend actions for change. You can follow all of the leaders' incredible campaigns through the stories, events, and resources they are posting on World Pulse.

CHILD MARRIAGE

Sadaf's Campaign: My Dad My Hero—Breaching Customs, Structuring Future
 Let’s stop child marriage in Pakistan by involving and educating fathers. My campaign’s vision is to utilize digital media and modern communication tools to reach fathers in Pakistan and beyond to ensure that child marriage can be prevented. I believe that by involving and educating fathers, we can defeat the harmful tradition of early age marriage.

Carolyn's Campaign: Make Girls Voices Count!

Let’s empower adolescent girls in Nigeria. My campaign seeks to teach girls to use their voices to influence their lives, and to raise community awareness about the plight of young girls who are married too young and denied educational and job opportunities.

MENSTRUATION

Urmila's Campaign: Urban Partnerships for Rural Impact—Dignity for Periods

Let’s end the myths, taboos and stigma around menstruation. 23% of girls in India drop out of school when they get their first period. My campaign uses social media, on-the-ground outreach and community- and school-based trainings to spread accurate information on menstruation, its hygienic management and creation of a support system for girls and women.”
