Introducing myself and my journal: Growing Young Leaders Through E-Clubs



About Me:
I am the executive Director of Ripe for Harvest Inc., a youth organisation based in nyeri that deals with youth empowerment with special empasis on young women. I am currently managing a women mentoring women project funded by Vital Voices. Before the mentoring project, I implemented a human trafficking research and media campaign through music video and song funded by the American Bar Association.



Before joining Ripe for Harvest I worked with The CRADLE - a childrens organisation in the area of human trafficking. While implementing the human trafficking project at The CRADLE – The Children’s Foundation, at The CRADLE, I spearheaded the process of formulating an effective and enabling legal and institutional environment to counter human trafficking in Kenya through the drafting and participatory review of the draft counter trafficking in persons bill, 2006 and the Sexual Offences Act, 2006. I was also involved in carrying out a research on the Nature and Extent of human trafficking in Kenya.



I have also worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as an Eligibility Officer and UNDP- Kenya as a Program Manager and Legal Specialist.



I studied her first degree in law at the Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya. My Masters degree was undertaken at the University of Anterp, Antwerp, Belgium, in Governance and Development. I am currently undertaking an MSc in Education for Sustainability funded by the Commonwealth Foundation through distance learning.



I am a certified arbitrator and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.



At a personal basis I am married with one son aged 3years old.
