VOF Week 2: (WE ARE IN SYNC)

World Pulse Media is pleased to announce a Call for Applicants for Voices of Our Future, an exciting new international women’s correspondent network. I received this in my inbox on Friday 10th of February 2009, and logged on the website to see what it was all about.

I joined world pulse, unsure of what I was getting myself into. But I joined it anyway, and I posted my first journal. I was nervous when I met successful experienced confident women raising their voices (I am the shy kind) but the response was humbling, there was a team ready to help me and direct me around the website: “tell us more about yourself, post a photo or an imagine that you feel expresses you, meet people” I was advise by the world pulse team, this I did. “Join the voices of the future applicants”, I was further, advised, and here I am.

I was all-alone at the beginning of the journey that was world pulse, unsure of myself, but now I am part of a community with a live pulse, raising my voice, in harmonious unison with fellow women. The comments I received and the remarkable articles I read and the groups I joined have nurtured my confidence.

Due to unavoidable circumstances I could not access the Internet as frequently as I would have loved to for three weeks, and I kept wondering, what women in world pulse were up to? Will I be left behind?

When I finally came back online, I was amazed. There were so many people around the globe to meet, so much to learn. I have read stories from women from practically all around the world. Its growing I thought, it roots are not only going deeper but also further.

See, this is what flows in me. I like challenging, criticizing, encouraging and empowering through simple stories. I find it more interesting and captivating. I have written a manuscript of a novel that is in the final stages of publication, which tells a story of a young girl, a mother, and a young woman struggling to live her dream. I am also trying to run a blog page, (and I need to put more effort in this). So when I met world pulse I connected with it. See, its pulse was at the same rhythm with mine. I met women who share my dreams and my passion.

When I write I know that I am not only speaking for myself but also for those women and girls who do not have the opportunity to do so, YET. This is part of my responsibility, and thank you world pulse for providing another platform for me and for women around the world.
