IDB-INTAL & Red Sur Call for Research Proposals from the LAC
The Inter-American Development Bank-Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (IDB-INTAL) and the South American Network on Applied Economics/Red Sur jointly invite researchers/research centers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to propose research projects in four different subject areas: a) Value chains and natural resources (NR); b) Climate change and integration; c) Renewable energy; d) Standards and market access. One study in each of the four subject areas will be selected for funding of US$15,000 each. Applicants: a) can be institutions and researchers from all over LAC; 2) researchers or institutions from other regions may submit projects provided it is done in conjunction with partners in the region; 4) Priority will be given to proposals that have a prospective and regional approach; provide an intra-and extra-regional comparative perspective; and propose methodologies and data enabling an original quantitative analysis of the phenomena studied and the policy recommendations; 5) Proposals must clearly state the subject area in which the project is competing and help to answer one or more of the questions for that particular subject area. All proposals must take into account possible trends in the international arena over the next ten
years, identifying opportunities, challenges, and alternatives for LAC.

The USAID/Indonesia Grant funding to address Urgent Human Rights Challenges
The Fund aims to address urgent and new human rights challenges while building the capacity of local human rights groups and actors to respond to these challenges. A series of grants will be awarded to NGOs for amounts ranging between $500,000 and $750,000 each for a period of 18 months.
Thematic Areas: a) Broad-based human rights protection and promotion; b) Protecting and promoting LGBT rights; c) Addressing discrimination through integrative programs; d) Human rights and climate change. Eligibility: 1) Applicants can be US and non-US non-governmental organizations; 2) Concept papers must demonstrate and respond to urgent or unanticipated human rights challenges and respond to emerging windows of opportunity in the protection and promotion of human rights; 3) Proposed activities must be conducted in any of the thematic areas listed; 4) The concept papers must include one page cover page, up to 3 pages technical narrative and one page budget sheet.

IMSCI 2015 - 9th International Multi-Conference on Society, Cybernetics, and Informatics (July 12 - 15; Orlando, Florida, USA)
Educational technologies, socio-economic organizations, and socio-political processes are essential domains among those involved in the evolving co-adaptation and co-transformation between societies and cultures on the one hand, and between informatics and cybernetics (communication and control) on the other hand. 2015 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders
This is a merit-based open competition. Applicants: 1) must be between the ages of 25 and 35 at the time of application submission, although exceptional applicants younger than 25 will be considered; 2) cannot be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.; 3) must be eligible to receive a United States J-1 visa; 4) must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; 5) must be citizens and residents of one of the eligible countries; 6) must have a proven record of leadership and accomplishment in public service, business and entrepreneurship, or civic engagement.

EISTA 2015 - 3th International Conference on Education and Information Systems, Technologies and Applications

National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Fellowship for All
The Program supports early career scholars working in critical areas of education research. Applicants must: 1) have received their PhD, EdD, or equivalent research degree between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2013; 2) should have a demonstrated record of research experience in education; 3) submit a project that must be an education research project. Applicants will be judged on the applicant's past research record, career trajectory in education research, and the quality of the project described in the application. Applications must be made by the individual applying for the fellowship; group applications will not be accepted. Non-US citizens are welcome to apply. Concurrent funding for the proposed project is not permitted. You may not hold a grant from the Spencer Foundation at the same time as this fellowship. Fellows will receive $55,000 for one academic year of research, or $27,500 for each of two contiguous years, working half-time.

Atlas Corps Fellowship (USA) Civil Society Leaders Fellowship
Our mission is to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled nonprofit professionals. The Fellowship is a 6 to 18 month professional fellowship opportunity that allows candidates to serve full time at host organizations located in the United States. The fellows work on issues that complement their expertise and get a platform to share best practices and supplement daily knowledge with theoretical topics presented in the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab.

Hivos Grants for Innovative Ideas and Best Practices
Addressing the major challenges to the future of people and the planet requires new ideas. In the face of persistent inequality, an unsustainable economic system and threats to freedom and dignity, Hivos is continuously looking for new ways, new practices and new alliances that will contribute to systemic change. In 2014, Hivos is launching its first Social Innovation Award. The award is meant to encourage new solutions for social change by supporting innovative ideas and practices which expand and defend freedom or create productive ecosystems that sustain human progress. Two categories: a) a prize for a promising innovative idea that needs support to develop into a prototype; b) a prize for a proven innovative approach that needs support to scale up and increase impact. Both awards entail a €15,000 prize which must be invested in further developing the concept. The first category award consists of a € 5,000 prize and a coaching trajectory worth € 10,000 to develop the idea into a prototype. The second category prize is intended as an investment in scaling proven approaches within the next two years.

Visegrad University Studies Grant (VUSG)
It is a grant program designed for universities with the aim to pro­mote and support the development and launching of outstanding university courses or degree programs that deal with specific phenomena explicitly related to the Visegrad Group (V4) countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The grant is intended as a lump-sum, multiple-installment grant awarded to university departments, schools or faculties, which can present the course’s/program’s thorough syllabus/curriculum and confirm its planned long-term enrollment. The supported sums depend on the scope and quality of each project but are intended to be ca. €10,000 per course and €40,000 per degree program. Eligibility: a) Any public or private university in the world can apply; 2) the course/program can be taught in any language; 3) the course/program is expected to secure for each semes­ter of its enrollment at least two/three relevant guest lecturers from two Visegrad Group (V4 countries), others than that of the applicant; 4) Application must be made in English language.

The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) Calls Proposals for Systematic Reviews in Different Areas
3ie invites organizations in low-and middle-income countries to submit proposals for the Systematic Reviews to investigate the impact of development interventions in the areas of women’s empowerment, humanitarian interventions and rural employment programs. A set of six systematic review questions are developed by 3ie in association with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) Canada, UN Women, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Foreign of Disaster Assistance (OFDA), and the World Bank Independent Evaluation Group (IEG). One award each will be made on these six systematic review questions. The study team composition must meet the following criteria: 1) People with sector and substantive expertise in the topic to be reviewed; 2) People with training and experience in conducting systematic reviews (including systematic searching, quality appraisal, data extraction and data analysis); 3) An information specialist or experienced librarian to undertake and supervise searching; 4) Statistical expertise for quantitative analysis and statistical meta-analysis; 5) Expertise in qualitative synthesis methods and theory of change analysis. All successful research teams will be required to attend a two-day induction workshop on undertaking systematic reviews for 3ie. The induction workshop should be attended by two members of the proposed team, one of whom should be the principal investigator.

The program is open to both US and foreign organizations, including non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, international organizations, government agencies and academic institutions. The foundation only funds projects responsive to the topics included in each round. Awards of $100,000 USD are made in Phase I. The Open Society Foundation Moving Walls 23 Documentary Photography Project
Applicants: 1) can be any emerging or veteran photographer who is working long-term to document a human rights or social justice issue; 2) from underrepresented groups are highly encouraged to apply; 3) from Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East are encouraged to apply; 4) must submit a project that is a documentary-based work that uses new or creative visual strategies, investigative/storytelling approaches, or technologies; 5) must reflect a diversity of global perspectives, especially those that are under-represented in mainstream narratives and media. Five to six projects that provide a fresh perspective and expand the visual language of documentary photography will be selected. The $2500 participation fee, printing/framing, travel cost to attend the opening reception and related events and return shipment of photographs will be covered by the Foundation.

International Development Small Grants Programme / Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland
Eligible projects must be focused in one of the Scottish Government’s priority countries, contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (and the post-2015 Framework in due course), and the alleviation of poverty and economic growth in the priority countries: Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Indian States of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa. Incorporated not-for-profit organisations which have a presence in Scotland and an annual turnover of less than £150,000 are eligible to apply. There are three types of grants available: Project, Feasibility and Capacity Building. Applicants may only apply for one type of grant in each funding year.

The DO School Fellowships - One Year Program
The program is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs who are looking for training, mentoring and knowledge to start their own social ventures. Selected Fellows will spend the first ten weeks (March to May 2015) on the DO School campus in Hamburg, receiving start-up training and mentoring as well as jointly solving the Challenge. The following ten months will be spent in their home countries implementing their own individual ventures with the support of the DO School via an online learning platform, regular coaching sessions and last but not least a widespread fellow and alumni network. Successful candidates may come from, but are not restricted to the fields of packaging technique and design, sustainability studies, logistics, environmental engineering, urban planning, land use planning, architecture, fashion and design, as well as environmental advocacy, retail and human resource management. Successful applicants are individuals age 21 to 31 that will show exceptional motivation to contribute to starting their own social venture as well as solving the group Challenge. Fellowship includes: a) A substantial part of the tuition cost of the One-Year Program; b) Program related costs during the Incubation Phase (e.g. materials and entrance fees). Costs for a Fellow: 1) Tuition fee of 1,000 € in Hamburg and 1,000 $ in New York; 2) Travel to and from the DO School campus and associated costs (e.g. flights, visa fees); 3) Contribution of 900 € in Hamburg / 2,000 $ in New York for shared accommodation during the ten-week Incubation Phase; 4) Cost of living during Incubation and Implementation Phase (including public transport, meals, etc.).
