New Feature: Private Messages

Last week we added the ability to send private messages to other PulseWire members. You can visit your PulseWire Inbox by selecting My Inbox from the My Pulse menu or by visiting your profile and clicking on the Inbox tab. Note that you must be logged in to your PulseWire account to see these links.

In the Messages section, you can view your current messages be selecting one of the subtabs: Selecting All messages will show both incoming and outgoing messages, whereas Inbox shows only incoming messages and Sent Messages shows only the messages you have sent to other members.

Messages are treated as conversations and can be sent to multiple recipients. All participants are listed in the Participants column, and the date and time of the last message in the conversation is listed in the Last Updated column. To view a message, click on its subject. You can delete a message from this screen by clicking on the checkbox next to the appropriate message and then clicking the Delete button below. If you wish to select all the messages, click on the checkbox at the very top of the list.

When viewing a message thread, you will see all of the replies to the conversation on one page. You can easily add a reply by using the form below the existing messages. You can also delete an individual message by clicking on the Delete message link in the bottom right corner of each message.

To compose a new message, click on the Write new message tab. In the To field, enter the recipient's PulseWire member name. If you wish to send the message to multiple PulseWire members, you can list all the member names, separated by commas. Enter a subject and your message, then click Send message.

When you receive a new message, you will be sent an email notification. If you do not wish to receive an email notification of new messages, click on the E-mail notify tab and change your setting to No. Be sure to visit PulseWire to check for new messages!

If you encounter any issues with the messaging system, please contact us or leave a comment here. Thank you!
