About Me: I AM A 35 YR OLD LADY WHO IS PASSIONATE ABOUT FARMING AND WOULD NOT LIKE TO SEE ANY CHILD OR ADULT GO HUNGRY AS LONG AS WE HAVE LAND. I BELIEVE THAT AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY MUST BE INCREASED USING APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY AND SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES. I HAVE STARTED A PROJECT IN MY VILLAGE WHERE EVERY KITCHEN MUST HAVE A VEGETABLE GARDEN JUST TO SUSTAIN THE FAMILY. I PROVIDE THE SEEDLINGS TO THE VILLAGERS AND EDUCATE THEM ON HOW TO TEND TO THEM UNTIL THEY ARE READY FOR HARVESTING. THIS HAS GONE ALONG WAY IN IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF MY VILLAGE AND THE CHILDREN ARE HAPPIER AND EVEN PERFORM BETTER IN SCHOOL DUE TO AVAILABILITY OF ENOUGH FOOD FOR THEM. WE ARE NOW PLANNING ON DISTRIBUTING TREES TO THEM SO AS TO REDUCE DEFORESTATION WHICH IS IN THE RISE, OUR STYLE IS BIT DIFFERENT BECAUSE WE ARE CONCENTRATING ON FRUIT TREES LIKE MANGO, AVOCADO, ORANGE AND BANANAS. THIS MEANS THAT WHILE THEY GET SOME COVER FROM THE TREES, THEY CAN USE SOME FRUITS AS WELL HENCE A HEALTHY VILLAGE FOR YOU!!!!!!!

My Passions: FARMING

My Challenges: ERADICATING POVERTY

My Vision for the Future: TO SEE A HUNGER FREE WORLD

My Areas of Expertise: AGRICULTURE AND FINANCE

Warm welcome, Katie

Thanks Katie for the warm welcome. hope that this forum helps us achieve our passions by getting different ideas and different experiences from all over the world. There is nothing as painful as seeing a child go without a single meal for days yet we take what we have for granted. The world should be able to know what others are going through and learn to help where needed. All what we need can be found in the soil if only put to good use. thanks and pls can u suggest for me s few groups in this forum where i can meet like minded individuals?

Take care. Betty.
