..Youth held for kidnapping girl child, selling her in Madhya Pradesh

JAIPUR: The police arrested a neighbour for kidnapping a five-year-old girl from Kota and trying to sell her in Madhya Pradesh. The police also arrested two others who were trying to buy her.

The girl, Riya Kumari, had gone missing from her house in RK Puram area on May 6. It came up that a 20-year-old man living in the neighborhood, identified as Ashok, had kidnapped her.

"Ashok's nephew is about six-years-old. He asked his nephew to bring the girl out of her house on pretext of playing with her. For that, Ashok gave him Rs 200. When the nephew brought the girl out, he kidnapped her and boarded a bus for Madhya Pradesh,' said addl SP, Kota City, Rajan Dushyant.

When the family members lodged a missing complaint, the police came to know about the kidnap and traced Ashok with help of his cell phone location.

"A police team was rushed to trace him. For two days, he kept going from one place to another. On Friday night, we arrested Ashok with help of Bhopal police crime branch from a village near Nrisinghgarh in Madhya Pradesh. We rescued the girl also. Two men, identified as Rakesh Kanjar and Mahesh Bedia, were also arrested as they took custody of the girl after paying some amount of money to Ashok," said the officer.

A separate case was lodged with Madhya Pradesh police. "The girl is yet to be brought to Kota. We are investigating why the two men were buying the girl," said the officer. Ashok was a mason worker.

I am so glad the girl was found, and very glad that the police took the time to find her, and didn't just look the other way. Thank you for speaking of this. Wouldn't it be wonderful if somehow women could stop the horrible crime of steeling and selling children?

But still the issue exists
