Hello fellow sisters in the economic empowerment group,
I am very glad to be here, for am a believer in the importance of economic independence of women. This empowerment will make women financially secure, and, equally important, provide them with opportunities to achieve cirtical positions in their countries and to contribute to their societies.
I come from a country in the Middle East, where women are still not treated justly. My name is Bayan Itani, and I am a 26 year-old single mother. I have a BA in journalism and and MA in sociology.
I became a WorldPulse member back in 2013 when I joined as a VOF correspondent. Thanks to WorldPulse and to the program in particular, I turned out to further support women's pursue of justice. I have often said that having a platform for women is the first step to communicate our common problems and issues. Today, with my engagement in this group, I am jumping to the next step, which is investing in this beautiful platform to inspire my sisters, and to get inspired from them. Starting there, we can intensify our dreams and encourage ourselves to pursue them.
