I have the honour of presenting to you my journal. I have a physical handicap and other women with handicaps, we are a group numbering 35. We are not exempt from problems. The situation has always been alarming since historically we are victims of discrimination shown by others. A person living with a handicap can't find a place for herself in society regardless of her abilities and even if she is mentally capable, but viewing [just] her physical state she finds herself disqualified.

Take action! This post was submitted in response to Ending Gender-Based Violence 2012.

J'attends votre prochain poste,

Beverley

Hello friend, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It is terrible to hear that those with handicaps are not provided the same opportunities as those with out. In my country we try to provide equal opportunities for those with handicaps. I hope that by sharing your story with us and continuing to speak out, that you can help foster change in your country. Those with handicaps should be provided every opportunity to have a full life without discrimination and the ability to accomplish all of their goals. I wish you the best in your endeavor to bring equality to yourself and those women with disabilities.

Sending my prayers for a better life for you and your loved ones. Don't give up!

Love, Victoria

Dear Brigite, A Woman of GREAT Abilities, Courage and Vision ~

THANK YOU for speaking up for the many amazing, talented and aspiring people with "abilities" that does not define them but inspires them to be EXTRA-ORDINARY. It takes leaders like yourself to combat against the cultural and societal stigma against people of diverse "abilities". Access to education, training, medical and social services and partnerships with businesses and organizations to provide support and create systematic change is essential.

Keep your FAITH and VISION for social justice and equity for all people of diverse abilities!

With love and support,

Linda Ando
