To all who struggle: An open letter

This letter was written to a dear sister. But I am moved to send it out to you all, with hopes of bringing a flicker of light to someone who needs it:

My heart is heavy. You know I would never judge you and you do not need to ask forgiveness. I do not know why we face such struggle. Where is the miracle? I stopped asking 'why' years ago. Now I just wonder 'where' and 'how'. Where is the promised land? How are we to make it through such turmoil; unfulfilled promises? I do not have the answer.

I know for myself, I try to let go of the expectation for a desired outcome.

I practice gratefulness for one thing each day, even if it is as simple as being grateful for the sun on my face, or for the bed I sleep in.

I wish I could wrap my arms around you and tell you it will be ok. But I can't and I don't know for sure that it will be ok. I WILL pray that all your toil, your passion, will be honored, and that you will be provided for beyond what you need. I do not have much, but what I have I will give.

I know that we can all live on very little if we have hope, and if we have satisfaction in what we do. If we can reap benefits from what we sow. For now, I will PRAY for blessing in abundance. I will HOPE that you receive the justice and reward much deserved from your suffering and toil. I will hold you up before God almighty until my arms give out.

I wish I could be more encouragement and help to you. I weep for your struggle. Let us pray together for God's mercy.

All my love,
your sister,
Michelle
