Triage for the World

This is the dawn of a new era, both in real time, in levels of human consciousness and our capacity for growth and setting new paradigms. I don't know for certain if it because of the coming of age of the baby boomers and the gen-x communities, the state of our world, or the evaporation of the smoke screens. Whatever the reasons, and I am sure there are many more that we don't know about yet, it is time for change.

Since I have been evolving the past few years through my work as a humanitarian photographer, I am feeling a stronger urge and push than ever before. The timeliness of social media and networking seems to be ramping up our capabilites for connecting with one another in an exponential way that is surprising, delightful and powerful. That realization rang true in a huge way when I realized that every big American Corporation was a major sponsor at this years BlogHer 2010 in NYC this past August. Yup, they wanted to jump on the wave of women bloggers, and there is a good reason for that.

Women know how to connect with one another, it is an inherent quality, it's in our DNA! Social Media has increased our potential at doing what we do best. It's a no-brainer for the business world, and they know the potential is there. We are all capable of telling our stories, and the world wants to hear them. It is much better to act as our own agents from the first person perspective, everyone wants authenticity and the public is becoming too savvy for anything contrived.

As a woman who is interested in being part of the transformation, I am thrilled to be introduced to others that are ready for the real ride. I have witnessed women in Africa, India, the Middle East, North America, Europe, and the Caribbean, and there is not one that does not want the same things that I want in terms of love, understanding and a better world. Please join me as I go out there and meet women who need help but also who can give and much to teach us.
