I can change my sphere

My heart cries out for my nation Zimbabwe. I have watch the nation deteriorate over the last wo decades. A shona proverb says, 'Rivers are now streams'. Strong and mighty rivers can over the years lose their vitality and give in to the changes of times. I have watched things change in Zimbabwe but my heart still believes that this nation can resurrect. I remember as a child looking at countries like Mozambique and Malawi. They were small in our eyes. Now Mozambique is rising. I hope to see the day when our children will live in a normal society, a society where every child gets a fair chance chance in life, where no children go to bed hungry, where women do not have to walk for miles to get a bucket of water, where health services are available for all, education for all.
I cannot really change much, but i can change the little I can in my sphere.
Maybe I can influence those around and together we can make a difference in our nation.Maybe as women we can birth a new nation, a new Zimbabwe, a new Africa.
