Constitution,Constitution,Constitution!!!!

Participation in any constitutional making process should ensure that all the views from the communities around the country are taken on board by the policy makers. Civil society ,social movements , the business community, policy makers, among others have an important role to play, in ensuring the voices of the marginalised are captured in the final document.

The all stakeholders constitutional conference which was held on the 13th and 14th of July 2009 in Harare,Zimbabwe attempted to bring all views and ideas from the broader community in ensuring that the country's vision is guided by fundamental principles of people centred participation, respect for divergence and respecting the freedom of expression.

whether the outcomes of the conference did manage to address the concerns of everyone is yet to be realised.

My hope is to see an informed citizen who is fully confident in the constitutional process in as far as it addresses the daily bread and butter issues into the citizen's lives.

If that is not adequately addressed, then the struggle has not even started.
