Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
My name is Christiana and I am an artist living in Portland, Oregon. I believe in the power of art bringing about transformation in the viewer, the artist, and to the larger world context. My art studies have brought me all over the world and through my many travels I've witnessed the ways gender inequality keep women's voices hidden. My paintings attempt to cultivate empathy and portray women of color from around the world in positions of power. Portraiture in it's finest form gets at the essence of who someone is. I hope with my work to pay homage to women. Shed light on their stories. Bring awareness about to their cause. And represent them in all of their beauty, power, and grace.
