Omega-3 fatty acids health benefits: reduces inflammation, promotes bone health, helps protect body against heart disease and diabetes, controls high blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, aids weight loss and prevents constipation. Flaxseed has also helped me to keep both my hair and nails strong!

Now that you are aware of the multiple benefits of flaxseed, I'm going to give you a delicious and healthy flaxseed recipe: A Berry Yummy Breakfast

This recipe is my daily breakfast. I can assure you that it is as delicious as it is nutritious. I slightly modified this recipe from one that Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Johanna Budwig originally created as part of her Cancer curing & fighting diet. (http://home.online.no/~dusan/diseases/cancer/cancer_dr_budwig.html)

Every morning I simply place the following ingredients into my blender until I have the consistency of my preference. I put in frozen berries because it makes it taste somewhat like a frozen yogurt. However, the fruits do not have to be berries or frozen; I do this out of choice.
1 cup Organic low-fat cottage cheese or yogurt (l prefer yogurt)
2-5 Tbsp. of flaxseeed oil
1-3 Tbsp. of ground flaxseed
1 handful frozen blueberries & raspberries (you may use other fruit and it does not have to be frozen)
Honey or any other natural sweetener (as much as you like)

I want you to know that both ground flaxseed and flaxseed oil can be used in any other recipes. This is not the only recipe, but it is one of my favorites. I really do suggest you try it as it is really tasty and rather filling.
