On September 06 2013, I had the pleasure to welcome on my radio show, Bread and Roses, Jensine Larsen, founder and CEO of World Pulse and Riane Eisler, author of the Chalice and the Blade and founder of The Center for Partnership Studies.
During the show Riane helped us understand the importance of moving towards a partnership system in all aspects of our lives, with women at the center. She described why we do not have to continue to live in a male dominated society, plagued by violence, abuse, crime and the domination of some individuals over others. Riane believes that as humans we have a strong capacity for caring and loving and that we would be better off adopting a partnership system, which allows for more collaboration, peace and stronger leadership.
Jensine was able to introduce the power of World Pulse and the connections it allows between women worldwide though the lens of a partnership model. World Pulse is building a strong network of women who feel heard, connected and empowered to act on the problems they face in their communities. Women on World Pulse often collaborate and offer strong emotional support to each other.
Hosting this show was a privilege but also a reminder to stay engaged in the conversation. I struggle with the reality some of us are facing and want to think that it will get better. But how? Riane Eisler though the Center for Partnership Studies and Jensine Larsen through World Pulse, are both offering concrete ways to empower women and our societies to bring positive, real and impacting change to the world. Both of them lay out concrete steps to be taken by all of us to move our society from a domination system to a partnership system where violence and abuse are not needed to maintain peace and harmony.
I would encourage you to visit the Center for Partnership Studies and to continue to be active on World Pulse and connect for impact!
Let there be a Vocal Uprising!
