Introducing myself and my journal: Exploring Beauty

About Me:
I am a male artist working with women to create a blog/traveling art exhibit/book called Exploring Beauty. Exploring Beauty raises questions about what is real beauty, by combining interviews and photographs of real women and their thoughts about body image, cultural differences, age, sexuality, confidence, growth and, most importantly, character.

I studied art and art history at Carleton College (class of '90) in Minnesota, United States, where I split my time between the art studio and the classroom. I have exhibited in shows at Carleton College, and in galleries and artists’ cooperatives in Seattle, Antwerp and The Hague.

I continued to create art while pursuing a career in civil engineering for 15 years. In 2008, I decided to realize a lifelong dream: I became a full-time artist. A United States citizen, I currently live and work in The Hague. My website is www.exploringbeauty.org.
