My life journey

ASSIGNMENT FOR WEEK TWO
I am a very unique person who comes from a poor family background and lost my Father at the age of 14 years and remained with a mother who was too poor to take care of my three brothers and myself. We were kept by relatives who managed, in their own small way, to lay a foundation for our future.
Things were not all that easy but I thank God that he gave me a special gift that I appreciate all the time, A POSITIVE ATTITUTUDE, A FIGHTING SPIRIT. I learnt to live on even when things seemed to be crumbling in my face. I have also been on a search of something that can be satisfying to both people in my community and myself. One thing that I enjoy doing most is reading and trying out on new things that point to enrichment in terms of knowledge though I may have not gone up to university but only went as far as college. This though has not deterred me from wanting to learn more and impact my community positively.
I have been signing up to many platforms serving different interests and yet I kept on searching until I signed up to farm radio international last year in June. Through their weekly newsletters, I was able to find something exciting that caught my eye, which was the training being offered by pulsewire to which I immediately registered and enrolled. I was inspired to apply because I felt that was my chance as I have been searching for such an opportunity which presented itself to me and I told myself that this is time for me to fulfill my desire of connecting and sharing with people from different parts of the world and open up horizons by embracing new tools of change.
I have always wanted to lead an independent life, the life of putting other people’s interest first before mine. I currently work as an administration officer in a private company but also doing a small business of giving out small business loans to mostly poor women entrepreneurs in my locality. The small loans help these women take care of their families and send their children to school by mostly trading at local market stands. Business growth is usually a challenge as the money realized is only able to meet basic needs in most households and payback the loan which is revolving and limited as compared to demand. There is always a long queue for this limited resource. I feel satisfied that I am able to put a smile on my fellow woman’s face though with limited resources. My vision is to see these services expand even to far places from where I am and empower that woman who is in need and I believe with this training, I will be able to learn how other women are achieving their goes through sharing.
