Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am a nurse by profession and a forest dweller both by my heritage and by belief. I live in Jharkhand - a state in eastern India.

In my state, there is a big battle going on between the government and Maoist (we call them 'Maovadi' or 'Red party' ). Every second day there is an encounter, or a raid. Often, there are landmine blasts.

My village is right in the middle of this conflict. Many young men, including my own brother have been a victim of this conflict.

As a woman, it is very difficult to survive in a situation like this. We have zero development, lots of diseases, no jobs and so much of depression.
As a Christian, I have always been told to keep faith in God. But, personally, I also have faith in people. I think when good people gather together, they can bring solution to big problems.
As a nurse, I now try to instill faith my community members. I tell them that despite the political problems, we can bring small improvements, through small efforts like managing our village water sources, our home gardens, our personal health etc.
I have come to World Pulse through Stella Paul who I have known for years. Recently, she has taught me how to use Internet, social media through mobile phone. I am now learning videos and soon I want to teach other women in my village in all this.
I may have difficulty as this is a forum for English-knowing people, but Stella Paul has assured to help me whenever I have trouble with the language. Its a good start, think.
