My book "The Eve Chronicles" by Diane DeVillers is about a self-reliant woman who lives in the Wallowa Mountains doing timber inventory in some of the most remote areas in Oregon. Check out her author page where you can buy both their books.https://www.amazon.com/Diane-DeVillers/e/B00BWY3Q9K/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0

My father's book reads just like a Tom Clancy book it's highly researched then check out my father's book. When I found out his book was sitting in his office at home, I had him mail methe manuscript and the old style floppy disk. Well, it wasn't simple, the old program it was typed on didn't format well with my computer. Half of each page was right and the other half was way over to the right of the page. Time works was an old program that had created the fileand every one I asked in how to fix it was stumped. So page by page I corrected it, moving lines over to the left margin. It took me a year.

Then I finished my book "The Eve Chronicles" which contains the three ebooks' From the Waters of Coyote Springs", "Felix and Eve" and "The Arrangement. Our books were very different from each other. Mine was a contemporary fictionalized memoir, and dads was a historical epic.

So I researched how to get them self-published and sent them off to Marti Dopkins in Arizona who turned the typed file into the format that e book sites require. It has to be made so the typed page fits into the e book's screens. She had to fix all the indented paragraphs that were five spaces, into only three spaces. Then we published the e books on Smashwords site and Amazon.

Then, oh we're not finished yet, we worked with Jim Dopkins at USC Press who published them and had connections to Lightning Source book printers.Marti had to make the manuscript into a file that would download to them. So we had fifty copies of each book that we had to sell ourselves.

I asked everyone I knew even my doctor's and dentist, friends, and relatives, anyone who I could get into a conversation with about my books. I brought them to an area bookstorein Eugene, called the Blue Moon and two places in Yachats on the Oregon coast. , one at Marti's books (not the same person as my formatter) and a few at the gift shop at The Abode Hotel nearby.

I then started blogging on a dozen blogs, making ten or more blogs about various news topics, current events, women's issues, environmental issues anything in the news I could blog about and include other links too that send them to experts in the field I get a lot of blog ideas from the emails I get every day from all the sites I am signed up to get updates from. Then every 15 regular blogs I would post about my dad and my books. I blog on WordPress, world pulse an international woman's site, twitter, under didediapers, blogger, live journal, daily 2 cents, to name a few.

The ebooks get distributed by Smashwords to Barnes and Noble, sony, and libraries. Amazon sells on their site both the e books and the paperbacks.

Our books are in the Eugene Library, side by side, every time I go to the library I make sure to go by and visit them on the shelf. We are also both in the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington Wisconsin near where I grew up.

I have plans to send press releases about our books to the Weekly and Register Guard newspapers in Eugene, and try and get a book signing gig at bookstores in town. Tsunami book isinterested. I am also sending the press release to the Ozaukee Press in Port Washinton and Milwaukee journals.

So far I've sold about a hundred books and get them printed fifty at a time from Lightning Source. Lighting Source gets them into the Ingram catalog and sells them there for us.

So that's how my father and I got our books published. He's 85 and I'm 61 and we are so proud that each of us are newly published authors. Jim at USC Press says that my dad's book has had some interest with foreign agents. My one book 'The Arrangement he says would be a great book for Time Life TV movies. They there are big opportunities for stories with strong women characters.

The three ebooks are "From the Waters of Coyote Springs" about when I lived in the Wallowa Mountains doing timber inventory for the Forest Service, living in my tent in a camp with other mismatched foresters. My outspokenness soon earns me the nickname "Queen of the comeback" from the relentless teasing done by the crew of mostly men.

"Felix and Eve" is when I move to the Oregon coastal town of Gold Beach and live with an elderly man who needs a live-in caregiver as he recovers from heart by-pass surgery. He's a cranky old guy at first but within weeks he warms up to her and starts to tell her about his former life when he worked for the notorious gangster Al Capone.

"The Arrangement" is about the now retired baby boomer Eve, who finally settles in the eclectic town of Eugene in the Willamette Valley. She owns property on Moon Mountain where Vinnie lives in a yurt in the back yard. Every year she gets a letter with a skeleton key in it. She flies down to Catalina Island to spend the summer with an old lover. Vinnie is in love with her but remains silent.
