Traditional Societies Western Consumerism
Community center: religious center department store, shopping malls
Personal success: cooperative, generous rich
Identity: family, klan individual and the products she or he displays, such as clothes
Environment: respect, balance exploit
Values: cooperation, piety competition, material success, hard work
Heroes: religious leaders, scholars rich media and business figures
Happiness: harmony consumption
