Is feminism supposed to eradicate the role of wife? NOT AT ALL

Immediately when I heard the title of Beyonce Knowels 2013 European tour called 'The Mrs Carte Show'.
The title on its own just intrigued me
as I saw it as a breath of fresh air with regards to embrasing womanhood as a multi- tasked phenomena.
For those who might not have heard of Beyonce Knowles,
well ..she is an American female musician popularly known for her
women empowering and girl power songs such as Single ladies, Who runs the world? Girls,
and many other anthems celebrating womanhood.
The thing is, when her World Tour was entitled 'The Mrs Carte Show'
I thought it was kind of refreshing for her to embrace her role as 'wife'
to her American rapper husband Shawn Carte popularly known as 'Jay Z' on the rap and music scene,
It surely gave a good impression that a woman could still be independent and emancipated
without compromising her role as a wife in her matrimonial marriage.

In most of her televised interviews,
Beyonce usually says that she is a different person when performing on stage
than she is a wife and mother in her matrimonial home.
On stage she has a very strong and fierce feminine presence
reflective of the modern day independent woman,
but also likes being a great wife who is committed to fulfilling her womanly duties in her marital home.
Being able to maintain this balance in my own opinion is just out of this world.

Another example of a female singer in the same influential league as Beyonce is Mariah Carey who happens to be married to comedian and American reality TV personality Nick Canon.
Although Mariah is usually busy promoting her music, doing live tours and being a judge on the reality music show American Idol, she always enjoys spending time with her twin babies and cooking for her husband who she confesses to be obsessed with her cooking and wifery skills.
It is quite inspiring to see how these very emancipated co-operate women happen to stabilize their career success and financial independence, with motherhood.
These and other unmentioned examples of powerful women like Michelle Obama ( USA), Gracia Machell Mandela (South Africa) and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde (Nigeria), among many others who are also successful housewives as much as they are successfull business women, actually made me believe that it is very much possible for a woman to be financially independent and empowered yet still manage to be a very content wife and hands on mother
