Introducing myself and my journal: If our species is to survive

About Me:
I am a woman just entering my 7th decade. I have had the good fortune to have been born into a stable family in a stable country, and my life is blessed with a loving partner, two strong and loving daughters and four healthy beautiful grandchildren. I'm aware that the safety, security and freedom that my circumstances have given me are gifts that so many of my sisters around the world can only long for. The world will not change until women have the basic human rights that allow them to live in safety and to realize their full potential. In gratitude for my life, my daughters, and my grandchildren, I would like to do whatever I can to make this dream come true. I deeply believe that we can not survive as a species unless the power, creativity, and compassion of women grows until it balances the power of men.
