Good expirience!

I had all along identified and zeroed to this particular woman and even made contacts to meet her for the interview. It was in the last minute that I had scheduled to meet her that I could not go through her phone contact (The number you have called is not available at the moment, please try again laterX3); Time was ticking so I had to make a swift decision to get an alternative. I straight away called Lenny who was so excited to be profiled. It was just Gods luck that she was just 30 Km away from Kampala. We fixed the interview for that same day in the evening since she would be in the meeting for the whole day before travelling back to he village.

My interview was relaxed. I was not nervous because I was warmly welcomed and we had earlier on met and had had a discussion on various issues. I had prepared a list of questions to guide me. I first created rapport and explained why I was profiling her (for VOF Correspondents). She allowed me to ask any question I wanted to know. I even took her picture.
I only asked one question and this generated answers for almost the entire interview (Can you please tell me who Lenny is?). It made my interview so great.

My challenge was that I did not have a tape recorder and had to write everything especially getting the quotes as they were said was a challenge. I think I missed out very good ones.I found myself sometimes so taken up with listening to the emotional moving story of Lenny.

Next time I will try to have a tape recorder
