Evaluating the Stories

Greetings!

Thank you for sharing your voice!

Thank you all for your patience in anticipation of the announcement for which 6-8 My Story submissions will be published in World Pulse Magazine. At this moment, we are deep in the process of evaluating the submissions and our editorial team will make the final selection of the top three stories mid-December.

It will be a difficult decision as each and every submission has moved us deeply and the high caliber of writing and power of voice has shown us how valuable this program is in creating a space for women around the world to share their own experience on a unified topic. As you know, the writers of the top three stories will each receive a $100 honorarium in addition to publication. The additional 3-5 stories chosen for publication will not be announced until later, as it will depend on the layout of the magazine as we draw closer to the print deadline.

Be a part of our Editorial Cycle of Empowerment!

As Corine, World Pulse Managing Editor, mentioned in her last post, we are always searching PulseWire for stories to publish in our magazine, e-magazine and website. So I encourage each of you to use your journal as a space to raise your voice, speak your mind and draw us into your world, to shed light on the reality for women in your community and local movements that are re-shaping the world.

World Pulse is founded on the belief that there is a world of untapped knowledge, innovation, and vision held by the women of the earth. We look for articles that are solutions-oriented, empowering, and that demonstrate the collective power of women globally.

Activating Our Voices

If you enjoyed writing collectively with women from around the world on the topic of Land, there are more opportunities to join your fellow PulseWire members in activating your voices for change.

There are still ten days left to blog about the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. Read what women on PulseWire are saying and add your voice. Remember to tag your journal 16 Days 2009 and your journal will join the chorus of women speaking out against gender violence.

Today, December 1 is World AIDS Day, which is also within the 16 Days. The theme for World AIDS Day 2009 is 'Universal Access and Human Rights'. Global leaders have pledged to work towards universal access to HIV and AIDS treatment, prevention and care, recognizing these as fundamental human rights. I encourage you to write on this topic in your journal and share your own story. In addition to tagging your journal 16 Days 2009, you can also add the tag Red2009 to create a unified collection of journals on the topic of AIDS.

See you on PulseWire!

In solidarity,
Jade
