Introduction

"Indeed, I wish to be the drop that creates the ripples of change." - Aliakhbar A. Jumrani

By nature I am a problem solver. I can't resist puzzles of every kind. That is why I am a change maker.

My name is Jane, I'm 21 and I live in Australia.

When I was sixteen I was diagnosed with a life threatening blood cancer. Surviving brutal chemotherapy left me evaluating what my short life had amounted to. Jane Austen says that "human nature is so well disposed towards those who are in interesting situations, that a young person, who either marries or dies, is sure of being kindly spoken of." Was that the best praise I could expect? After all, what had I really done to improve the lives of others? Since then I have been determined to make the most of health and strength and use my life to improve society and the world. It is a steep learning curve and results may not be measurable but hopefully I can be a drop that creates the ripples of change.
