Dearest Correspondents,

You've done it again! I am receiving message after message from midwives, mentors, community members, and team members - all who are so humbled and inspired by your powerful and courageous stories that are pouring forth from Voices Rising. Congratulations to those of you who submitted your second assignment! As Elsie says, wahoo! And, if you haven't submitted yours yet, don't give up! We are cheering you on from the side.

As you know from some of the posts to the classroom, I extended quite a few deadlines until this Sunday. However, it is important to clarify that only those articles that were submitted on-time or from those correspondents who are late for extraordinary circumstances are eligible to be selected as one of the three journals published by World Pulse.

But, I want to stress the importance of completing all four assignments. Most importantly, the world wants to hear your voice and we want to help unleash it! Additionally, you must complete all assignments to receive a certificate at the end of the program. And finally, the personal satisfaction and benefit you will gain from fully participating is immeasurable.

For those who posted a final or strong draft before the deadline, if you so choose, you may continue to edit your journal until this Sunday, August 9th, which is when all assignments must be in to be counted. To do so, please edit your latest version in your journal since we are already highlighting them on the PulseWire homepage and sharing them on our social networking profiles on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Don't forget to reach out to your midwives, mentors, colleagues, me, Cristi, or anyone (!) if you want input. Corine and the editorial team will be selecting the three journals at the top of next week.

And lastly, to give everyone a short break, I am holding off on posting month three to the site until next Tuesday! August is going to be a hot one! And, Scott will be back!

With love and in partnership,

 1. Don't forget to copy this paragraph at the end of your frontline journals:

This article is part of a writing assignment for Voices of Our Future, which is providing rigorous web 2.0 and new media training for 31 emerging women leaders. We are speaking out for social change from some of the most forgotten corners of the world. Meet Us.

 1. Please add this exact phrase as a tag to your assignment: Voices of Our Assignments

That way it will show up here:

I've added it to quite a few assignments, but likely will not get to all of them fast enough!

Thanks for extending the deadline. Am I in the contest still. With a dead aunt ( May her soul rest in peace) and a broken PC I think I deserve a chance. Even if I am not I will still try my best,

With best wishes,

Nusrat Ara

The death of a family is indeed an extraordinary circumstance. You have until this Sunday to submit your assignment. If you are not able to complete the assignment on time, don't give up! Please complete it for all the reasons I listed in my announcement.

We are all sending you and your family our love and support,

Don't think I'm in the competition but that's okay. I'm still trying to sort out my piece. InshaAllah, will be submitting it soon.

I am thrilled to read that you are going to complete your piece. Given that our newest edition of the magazine has a feature story on Pakistan, as you likely know, your story will be an excellent compliment to it. Be sure to post it in the Pakistan Cafe (as you always do!) and share it on your Facebook.

And, as I mention in the Subject line of this reply, there will be a next time!

Hi! Use commas instead of periods. So, instead of this:

Frontline Journal. poverty. education. literacy. Greight Foundation.voices of our future assignments, voices of our assignments

Frontline Journal, poverty, education, literacy, Greight Foundation, voices of our future assignments

Make sense? Go look now! Because you are were one of the first to post, yours is on page two.

About our conference call, i was not able to schedule one before my final posts. My connectivity is not so good at home, for a conference call.

But, I was able to post a draft and final piece. I hope that i did it justice. Just in case I left out anything, Please let me know. I'm so glad that we have an opportunity to edit it.

Very grateful, Stella
