translators needed for an international poetry and short story competition

Dear PulseWire Groupies,

My Columbian friend sent an email to me and she is requesting if there are people in our group who would like to act as translator for the world wide competition. I will post her email to me, as it is. Please contact her, if you're interested. Or, let me know and I will forward your response. :)

Hello friends, how are you?

I´m Raquel González, from Colombia. I met with you in Istanbul 2007.

Now I´m working/ organizing the Pacifist Poetry and Short Story World Competition.

The Pacifist Poetry and Short Story World Competition is an initiative of Las Filigranas de Perder, with logistical and/or mediatic support from Pacifistas sin Fronteras, the program Libro al viento (Book to the Wind) in Hospitals, the District Secretary of Health of Bogota, REDNEL, Lapis Lazuli newspaper, Notici@scadadía, Salaletra literary group, Network and Action international magazine, Parallel 30 literary magazine, Eldígoras, Isla_Negra, La Fábrica Azul, Espacio Y, El Laberinto Cultural Foundation, ARCCO Network, Pretextos poetry group, El Túnel literary center, Glitza: Páginas de Agua literary workshop, Poesía y Algo Más blog, Jaime Cerrón Palomino study and cultural promotion center, RUMI literary workshop, and an increasing group of organizations and volunteers in all the world.

The Pacifist Poetry and Short Story World Competition is going to be developed through Internet and in the biggest possible number of languages, to make it truly world-wide. In order to make this a reality, we have a group of translators in Arab, Spanish, Italian, Catalan, French, Hebrew , English, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Wayuu, and we count with juries in Catalan , and Wayuu. We also have received support for the conformation of a team of translators and juries in Quechua wanka language. We specially require jurors, who must have a minor trajectory like writers and/or literary critics in the language in which they apply as jurors.

This competition is based in the volunteer work. We don´t have economic help. For this reason we are looking for people around the world interested to participate like translators to so many language as be possible. We need specially some people that can translate to german and arab, but all the translators are welcome.

The translators work will be translate the documents like the competition guidelines, the objectives (these documents are in english and spanish)... After we´ll have to translate some texts send by the participants.

If someone of you is interested in participate like translator or, maybe, know of somebody who be interested, please write me.

Your help is very important for this initiative: to think in different languages and since different cultures about a common topic, the peace in the world.

Hugs and best regards.
