Transforming Communities and Transforming Lives

Dr Edonna Alexandria, a double PhD holder in Religious Studies and African Philosophy, is a reflection of her name-which means “one who has eyes and face of the sun.” In forty-three years of her life, she has confronted poverty, hunger, aggression, homelessness, false incarceration, abandonment, loss of two daughters, and abuse among others, but none of these have deterred her-she continues on her journey impudently. “I know that there are women who have suffered more and do not have a voice to share their stories or live out the rest of their dreams. I feel I am their advocate,” she shares.

Born in Uganda, she has traveled extensively and lived in America, Jamaica, Ethiopia and Ghana. She holds a world citizenship status, passport and ID which best describes the person she is-multicultural and dynamic. Immensely passionate about Mothers and Children, Sexism and Racism, her most important work involves assisting communities in the process of peace and development. After all she has done in her life, from advocating for rights of women and Africans, to transforming communities, she believes that being blessed with three wonderful children has been the greatest success of her life. A person who values spiritual relationship with creatures, nature, and people, Dr Alexandria gets her inspiration from Auset of Ancient Egypt, Nanny of Moorons, Mother Teresa and Marcus Garvey.

Working incessantly to touch the lives of many more, she is someone who will certainly be remembered by the world the way she wants them to-audacious, an advocate, and a motivator.
