At last...A men's summit on eliminating violence against women and girls in Nigeria

History will be made tomorrow September 14,2010 as over 100 men would be gathered at the Lagos Travel Inn, to discuss what they can do to end violence against women and girls in Nigeria.

The gathering is coming as part of the Male Involvement Project(MIP) of Project Alert in collaboration with some pro-feminist men and male-led organizations.

This is arguably the first time an all men summit will be holding in Nigeria to deliberate ways men can contribute toward ending violence against women as well as forming male support groups aimed at providing peer to peer counseling and support for men who need help in ending various forms of gender based abuses and violence.

Papers to be presented at the summit includes "A healthy father/daughter relationship: as panacea for preventing violence against women" By Kingsley Obom-Egbulem who is also one of the organizers of the summit.

Outcomes of the summit will be shared on this platform.

Regards.
