Global Voice on Gun Control

The gun control is now a controversial issue in the U.S. and in the United Nations.

CNN has invited its audience to share their view on gun control debate – who should get background checks. Should they be universal, or just for select groups of people?

My voice on this is that it should be universal.

Owning a gun has a universal reason, and that is for protection. The reason to possess a gun entails a big responsibility and consequence, when used. The background check is only a prerequisite, but the purpose of possessing it is more important.

A gun doesn’t limit or choose the kind of victim it is used for. There are countless children and innocent people who were unjustly killed in the U.S. and other parts of the world.

Therefore, my voice is that the background checks should not have exceptions. It should be fair. It should be universal.
