The Autistic Artist

When I was about 5 years old, I moved away from my dad's house with my mom and my brother. When I got to my new school, I was 6 years old. I made a new friend. He was the best friend I will ever have had. He was so kind, and sweet, and never violent. He would walk me from the bus into the school, play with me after school, and most importantly, protect me from the bully. The bully would try to beat me up at recess, every single day. Sometimes, he would succeed. But one day, he came after me, and my best friend got everyone together to help me. It was amazing. But the next year, I had to move. I started a new school, and an after school daycare. The bully was back. With no one to protect me, he beat me up everyday. Luckily, in third grade, i started a different daycare. But I wasn't so lucky, because more and more bullies popped up. I went home crying a lot. Eventually, my mom took me out of all after school daycare. That year, my mom metJohn. He was kind. He loved my mom. They got married. Soon after, I learned I not only have ADHD, but I have Aspergers, a form of high functioning Autism. It was hard. It still is hard, because John doesn't understand how todeal with kids like me, plus, my mom recently just told me about why I can't see my dad. It is because he is a homeless, alcoholic, drug adict, who tried to kill her because he is psychotic. But John, he made my life so much better, and more successful. He provides for my family, and without him and my step sisters, I would be living in the streets.I am now in 8th grade, and I'm thirteen. Next summer, I'm getting a job. I play the violin, I'm in a computer class and a survival class, and I take all advanced classes. Next semester I will join sports for kids like me. Some day, I hope to be a famous poet, songwriter, and singer. I would like to thank John (dad) very much for helping me be so successful.
