Empowering women for peace and development

This study is about the plight of women from a rice producting community to make themselves economically productive to supplement the income of their husband. By organizing them formally, they were able to secure from the Local Government Unit financial and material support for the livelihood skills training and sustainability projects that they planned to undertake.
they were able to catch the attention of the local leaders to provide them with training, material support and facilities. They were able to provde that if they are given the opportunity to be trained and equipped with skill for livelihood they can help their family find additional income to sustain their daily needs. This economic empowerment of women can also empower them politically as they can actively participate in the decision-making process in their community.

Note: I initiated the organization of this women as I find them potential for leadership. I laid the groundwork of making linkages with the local government unit for them to work with later.
Part of the projects that I have done with them was the effort to support the women who have been victims of domestic violence.
