OPPORTUNITY: GLOBAL VOICES CITIZENS MEDIA SUMMIT 2015

I received a great gift this Christmas Season - a travel grant and a free chance to attend the Global Voices Citizen Media Summit in Cebu City, Philippines on January 24-25, 2015. I just found it about 3 weeks ago through the Peace and Collaborative Development Network. I applied and was informed that I could go with a subsidy. The registration fee is only Ph 2,000 (about US50.00). It covers 2 snacks, lunch and conference materials. I will be given a code so that I could register for free.

I was also given a Ph3,000 travel grant. This is 50% of my actual travel costs to include fare and accommodation. Half the cost is fair enough for me. The learnings I will gain and the linkages with peace advocate I can build is more than the money I will be spending. Sad to say, the travel grant and registration pass is for FILIPINO citizens only but the summit is open to all nationalities.
