Rafiki Club Success: Women Share their Testimonies

Dear Rafiki,

It is yet another new month and we are going on strong. From the time we started Rafiki Club here on Pulsewire until today our effort cannot be measured any better except by the testimonies of the women that we all exchnage letters with.

Today, I received letters that have made me consider posting this column Rafiki Club Success: Rafiki Share their Testimonies as evidence of the impact we are making in the lives of many women in rural Africa.

First, let me start with Mama Ann Muthui, She is a our star in the rafiki Club. Mama Ann was the first to find a friend. Do You remember her first encounter with The name of her Rafiki Elsie? It was reported that when she received news of being paired with Elsie, mama Ann, who had never held a pen to write any time in her life, went home memorising the name Elsie. Today mama Ann has a testimony, read her letter attached here (Main thumbnail).

Mama Rosemary in her letter dated 30th July 2009 says "Madhumuni ya barua hii nikutaka kutoa shukurani zangu nyingi kwa rafiki club kwa mafundisho na masomo tulio pata yamaniinua sana hasa kwa biashara yangu" Rosemary, Lungalunga. (Translation- The purpose of writing this particular letter, is to give thanks for Rafiki club which has assisted us. we have received such knowledge and information that has helped me in running my business)

"I am twenty two years old and have one child. I am very happy to be in the Rafiki Club in Project Africa because I ma also gaining experience through this capacity. Otherwise i also very happy to be having my best friend in USA because this is another way to exchange ideas" 28th May 2009, Christine

"First of all thank you for introducing RAFIKI PROGRAM in Lungalunga. I am gaining a lot from the Program. second, I now have a friend from Canada. Thank you". 29th May 2009, Rosemary N, Lungalunga

With the same gratitude all the letters here share a powerful testimony that we should all be proud off.

My dear rafiki, my gratitude to each one of you who has made this vison a reality is big. thank you very Much. I know it is challenging and it is costly but nothing good comes easy. I wish to encourage each member in the Rafiki Club to keep on writing and inviting others to join us. Our effort are not in vain. We shall surely gather a bountiful harvest of women and girls who will be literate and free to share their opinion without fear. Let us not get weary nor faint in this journey to empowerment.

With these letters, I am sure that you who have tirelessly meditated good thoughts about women like mama ann Muthui and Others, you can see light at the end of this journey.

You are are all changemakers, You are making an impact in Kenya

Thank You

Warmest regards,

mamaAfrica
