Hillary Clinton is a modern-day Renaissance woman

\"As a child she wrote to NASA asking them how she could become an astronaut. The agency responded that they did not allow women in their programs.\" (via Huffington Post)

I just came across this article, \"Hillary Clinton's Birthday: 65 Reasons To Love Her On Her 65th\", and after reading all 65 reasons, one thing became very clear - EDUCATION!

Words that come to my mind when I think of Hillary Clinton: empowerment for women, admirable, accomplished, confident, ambitious, witty, powerful, fearless, bold. Hillary not only accomplished much in her own life (law school graduate, US Senator, First Lady, Secretary of State), but she also devoted her time and energy in helping girls and women globally. In collaboration with USAID and Peace Corps, Hillary helped launch Saving Mothers, Giving Life - a project to help reduce maternal and child mortality rate in areas, such as Uganda and Zambia, where the toll is the highest.

In 1995 at the United Nations 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, Hillary gave a speech and declared that \"it is no longer acceptable to discuss women’s rights as separate from human rights.\" Human rights are women's rights, and women's rights are human rights.

You can listen to the speech HERE

Happy Birthday, Hillary!
