We participated in the first ever Career Fair in Bamenda

On the 23rd Nov 2017 the Bamenda Congress Hall was full of students who came to participate in the first ever Career Fair organized in the North West Region.

On this day secondary school students were invited to come and discover the different trades, industries, companies, agencies that exist.

It was a golden opportunity to identify places where students can go for internship, vocational training or programs.

After listening to the speeches delivered to by the Government officials, the crowd moved to the different stands.

There I was, waiting anxiously to meet new faces and talk to girls about “Bring a Girl to STEM” project. At our stand we were 6 ready to attend to our girls. We had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of youths especially girls about our activities and how they can get involved. We shared information about the different STEM programs for girls that will begin in January at CYEED digital empowerment center for girls.

We were thrilled by the many questions that the girls asked because it showed how curious they were. By the end of the day, we were able to fill 4 sheets of contact information for girls who wanted to get involved in the programs.

We are very thankful to the Delegation of Employment and Vocational Training for organizing this first edition of a Career Fair in Bamenda.

It is was really a good initiative and we hope that it would happen frequently and also replicated in other regions of Cameroon that have never experienced one.

In order to meet up with the demand of our girls to join the digital trend, please we call on you to support this project. You may click on How to Get Involved and make a donation that will enable girls to participate in The Technovation Challenge Bamenda Program to begin in January.

Technovation Bamenda will engage about 300 girls to learn how to code. They will build a mobile app to solve an issue that they will identified in their different communities for a world competition. More updates coming soon!
