My inspirational story how I become an environmentalist

Writing is my passion since my childhood. I began to write for school when I was ten year of age and continued my work. While writing and going through various news reports I found that the due to over pumping of water for drinking, irrigation, domestic, commercial and agricultural use the underground water level of various states like Punjab, Haryana , Himachal Pradesh and other states of India is going down at an alarming rate which has created a serious threat to the underground water resources. If nothing is being done to stop this, it will have a devastating effect on our environment and earth. Protecting water sources is vital to conservation of all species which are extincting very fast.
We all are talking about global warming, green house effect, melting of ice and pollution etc. But none has thought the serious impact of the decreasing level of our underground water resources on the earth. Water is the elixir of life. Scientists are of the opinion that if the underground water resources are used excessively without any control soon our under groundwater resources will be exhausted and will have a bad impact on our eco-system and the world will become a desert soon. So proper water management, utilization of natural resources and creating awareness among the people to save the water is the need of the hour. All plants, trees, forests depend upon water resources. They take their food and water from inside the earth or rain. If the underground water exhausted they will die their own death. There will be no life on the earth. It has been reports from some parts of the country due to decreasing underground water level the trees, plants and forests has been vanished. Today there is no exact measurement of the bad effect of decreasing underground water level on the plants, tress, forests and on life. But it is sure if this situation goes on the plants, trees and forests will disappear soon and earth will become a desert soon.
Keeping in view of gravity of the situation I have innovated some useful techniques of rainwater harvesting to increase the underground water resources which is useful not only to India but to the entire world. The innovative techniques/ideas given in the project “Increasing Underground Water Resources” has been recognized by the govt. of India, UNEP and organizations worldwide. The useful eco-friendly innovative techniques are Funnel System, Polythene cover System, Less Water for Plants-Growing plants in sand, gravel, liquid without adding soil, Pits/ recharge well system and other useful ideas in my project.
These techniques/ ideas suggested in the project are universally applicable, globally novel, non-obvious, cost effective, eco-friendly, utilitarian and can be applied anywhere in the world to save precious underground water resources in the world to preserve water for the future generation and to save the earth and environment to become a desert.
This project has been displayed in the International Project Gallery-2007 by the UNEP (Volvo adventure) at Goteburg, Sweden, telecasted in the pogo channel on 12-11-2006, copies has been sent to UNO, UNDP, UNICEF,WB, Water aids UK, and other national and international organization with the appeal to adopt these useful techniques to save precious water. I am happy that I have a little contribution to save the environment by creating awareness in the world through my innovation.

Since no one is cared about the depleting conditions of under groundwater resources I have highlighted the devastating impact of the decreasing level of the underground water level in the world on plants, trees and forests to save the eco system since my childhood and created awareness to save the environment and life on earth. My appeal is to all the countries to adopt these useful techniques to save water for the future generations to save environment and life on the earth.
Besides this I am a student, writer, innovator, artist, social worker, youth leader, change maker, role model and a state, national and international award holder in the field of environment protection and community service and working for the betterment of the world. I am a strong supporter of youth power and women empowerment. I am the founder of the non profit website cywe.org and working for the cause of child, youth, woman and environment since 2006 and managing with my own resources without any financial support from anyone. I am the recipient of Diana award in 2009 and United Nations Outstanding Youth Achiever Award 2010 and I have received the highest award of honor the “National Youth Award-2007” from Govt. of India for my contribution to the nation for creating awareness and also received many other awards and honors for my outstanding work. I am a member and scholar of various international women, youth, writers, environmental and educational organizations. I have penned more than 1000 articles on youth , women, environmental and other burning issues of the society published in print and media and created awareness among the masses. I am a role model of women’s and youths. I have been nominated for the International women’s day Award 2011 by the Women Information network WIN) and my nomination is posted in their website for public inspiration. The aim of this story writing is to inspire the young generation and to create awareness to save our natural resources. I am ending the story with the appeal to save our natural resources to save life, environment and earth.
