a message to all

For all of my life I have felt different. As a child I was very aware of not fitting in and was bullied relentlessly to the point where I hated myself for being who I was. Now as a grownup, I am thriving because of my unique worldview and creativity, and I am so proud to be unique! It is my special way of looking at the world that makes me a valuable writer and thinker whose ideas are now taken seriously as wise and even visionary.

I cannot travel through time to tell my childhood or high school self this message. But I can put it out here to my sisters all around the world who are also bringing change and enlightenment. This is what I want you to know: Being yourself is beautiful. You are not like the others around you and that is not an accident -- it is a blessing! You are special! Be proud of who you are. :)
