What most excites me in Web 2.0 is that it connects/bonds women and men across the world whom they have different backgrounds, religion, status, experiences, and so on. It creates a platform whereby they can meet, discuss issues that concern them, exchange ideas, share their stories and experiences. It really empowers women across the world to speak up, raise their voices and say what they want others to hear. Web 2.0 is really amazing as it makes women and men to connect and share ideas and experiences and by the end of the day they will come up with a better ways to address the issues.

Web 2.0 really made things easier by linking people who share the same vision/views, women across the world can act as if they are together in one place and that is one of its numerous benefits. In my case it helped me connect to the other world, I mean women and men who are very far from me and where I stay, and it will help me raise my voice, share my stories and stories about my community and where I live since there are many people who has little or absolutely no idea of what is really happening in my place (good or bad), what violence and abuse women face, what development and performances they do for their community, what they really do to survive and what they get in return, how women are treated widely and so on and so forth.

Although I am just one person but I believe and trust that I can change someone’s life if not many and because of web 2.0 I am sure I will find many people whom we share the same vision, who will encourage me and support me in one way or another, there is a Somali saying which is “One finger cant wash the whole face” or as its been said in another saying “Many hands working together performs well”. As from childhood I always dreamed of lifting up other women and helping them whatever way possible and I can see that dream is coming true, am so excited to see when this dream changes in to reality.

We can empower others but we can’t force them to change as it has been said “You can force a horse to the lake but you can’t make it drink”, everything is just trying and trying without getting tired of it, everything is possible there is nothing called impossible because the word itself stands for I'M POSSIBLE.

I can see and smell the change's waves through web 2.0, we will never be defeated unless we admit it, we should keep going and there is no turning back, that is it.

Take action! This post was submitted in response to Voices of Our Future Application: Empowerment and Web 2.0.

Thanks for taking sometime to read it and yeah we will work together in changing ourselves as well as others, everything starts from the heart and if we have that feeling we will actually change. Yes we can!

Regards. Maria

Thank you Maryan, Your words were really an inspiration to me and to many other women: I AM POSSIBLE! Great sentence. Thank you for sharing it with us, together with your thoughts and reflections on Web 2.0. I really agree with it. Eliana

Dear Eliana,

Thanks alot for your great comment and encouragement, together everything is possible. we join hands and move forward one hand is here and the other hand is out there and web 2.0 is the media that links the two of us!

Warmest regards. Maryan

Dear everlyrose, Thanks for taking sometime to read ma post, everything is possible in this world and life will be just like the way you make it.

Best regards. Maria

Dear Maryan,

Wow... impossible to I'm possible....THAT IS POWERFUL!!!

Thank you so much for sharing these words and thoughts from your heart. Even though throughout the piece you are gentle and calm, the passion and drive in you comes out at the end of your writing. Amazing. Powerful. Love it!

Keep writing and voicing yourself!

Blessings, Lola

Love & blessings,

You just gave me new hope in two ways: You changed impossible to I'm Possible, which opens my soul that was a bit closed, and you shared with us the saying "one finger cannot wash the entire face" meaning we need all five fingers to do it. This gives me new hope as it seems to me like the five fingers are the five continents and we need sisters from all five continents to wash the entire face of our mother earth. You are going to make it possible!

Thanks dear friend for your great comment and for understanding the main concept of that five fingers and the whole post, am happy if i inspired you too. we gonna make it soon God's willing, we have already got good sisters from all over the world.

Peace and love, Maria

Dear Maryan,

I was delighted to read your assignment for week 1. Your message of hope and manifesting your dream is loud and clear. I especially liked your proverbs, they are oh-so-true!

Thank you for having the courage to find your voice. May you keep sharing your truth! Aloha, Beverly
