Story
- Were you nervous before the interview? If so, tell us how you overcome your fears. If not, tell us the source of the confidence.
Honestly I was not nervous as it wasn’t my first time to conduct an interview because of my work which requires more interaction with the community in which I conduct interviews or focus group discussions most of the time, but this was different. At first I had some butterflies in my stomach as I was not so sure how she will react at first when I appear in her office, or what she will say when I tell her I will share your story with the rest of the world, or what will be the overall environment. So I went there well prepared, I had some questionnaire at hand and also prepared a brief introduction about Worldpulse and VOF program, who was the founder, and how it started at first. But as soon I reached her office she welcomed me with open and smiling face, looking at that tender smiling face all my butterflies and doubts disappeared. We had a chat and I briefed her about the program and what is the main reason behind it and she loved the idea of been a citizen journalist, or even mentioning "Global issues through the women's eyes", she then asked me the URL of Worldpulse and she promised she will join with this amazing platform.
- What did you do really well during your interview?
After briefing her I started with simple stimulating questions and I wasn’t so fixed with my questionnaire instead I started twisting the story sometimes so that I get more information on that particular area without asking a direst question.
- What do you want on improving for next time?
This time I was just taking notes and was also recording the conversation on my cell phone for further reference incase I missed something important to write, but next time I would love to video record all my interviews so that I can make a documentary or something like that.
