Morning Delight

I always excited to wake up every Sunday morning aside from going to mass. I love having breakfast with my mama. She is now happy cooking and that when she cooks homemade dishes becomes delightful to the eye. Simple dishes becomes gourmet.

Before, she does not want to cook. My late nanay or grandmother often times the one who cooks for us. Except when she decided to stop due to the heat of the stove. I learned how to cook from my Nanay. She was really happy when I cook at the house. Enjoying my international cuisines sometimes.

I informed my mother if ever I will get married soon. I will still go for a visit and have breakfast or or lunch or dinner at her place in order for us to still have our mother-and-daughter talks. Our conversation ranges from recipes to life.

Waking up with my homemade boiled coffee of "barakong kape" (coffee bean from Batangas which has a strong flavored coffee) with whiskey. Then, having breakfast such as abodo rice and omelet. The adobo sauce is saute with garlic and rice. Cooking omelet saute in olive oil and butter with garlic, onions, tomatoes, bits of ham, mushroom, bell pepper, basil leaves, egg, milk and cheese.

The challenge is pleasing to the eye. We plate it in a gourmet style. We always upgrade ourselves by having simples meals into gourmet style. Everyday is a special occasion of life. Maybe the healthy side is also affecting us.

Filipinos are fond of eating in excess and their way of living. Our occasion like fiestas all year round. It is our lifestyle. There is a saying, "we are what we ate." And also quoting Mr. Henry Sy that "there should be the right ingredients in cooking and in life." I will not argue with that because he is the "King of Retailed Stores" here in the Philippines.

At the moment, I am now looking forward for lunch which my mother will cook a pleasant surprise in store. Now, she changed her mind again. Anyway, excited to see the plating of the dish. Happy eating everyone. Enjoy . . .
