Introducing myself and my journal: Burning Bridge

About Me:
I am a singer/teacher/director with extensive performance experience in bands, ensembles, theater, and as a solo artist. My private and academic studies have included contemporary and classical voice and piano, opera, dance, composition, jazz and arranging. I've performed at festivals throughout the U.S. over the past 10 years, as well as doing club, concert and event work backed by a jazz pianist and trio. I am currently working on a CD to be released in 2010. I also teach vocal technique and performance through private sessions and for a music academy. I have worked as a freelance reporter for local media, and am a published poet/short story writer. I served two years on the board of directors for a non-profit arts organization, during which time I also created and wrote a weekly online newsletter and handled media/press releases, promotions & marketing. I am an avid reader myself, devouring subjects from quantum physics, metaphysics, the study of consciousness to biographies, humorist perspectives, poetry, spirituality. I revel in circles/conferences with like-minded women doing psycho-spiritual work, and I enjoy (with near-reverence!) nature, dogs, friendships, vacations!
