THE SHE WELDER - A Changemaker

Oh! Yes ! She welds ,nope not only hearts of friends and family together, but also metal parts.

She might be a young woman who loves to walk on shores during moonlight and be a clandestine of her dreams , yet she is tough and strong enough and is there on the shopfloor of an automotive industry handling electrodes and spark.

Welding industry in India predominantly has more or infact maximum number of male welders. Certain fields and careers usually are at a backseat when it comes to women.

We still struggle to get that permission when women welders would be allowed inside underground mines. It is not often the physical built but the mental strength and alertness of an individual that helps and acts cognizant irrespective of the gender in cases of these specialized fields.

It is amazing to see this young girl striking an arc on the fabrication floor with a smile.

She bags the Confederation of Indian Industry Welding Award this year . A part of Project Prakruti which has been started by Mahindra and Mahindra , one of the biggest corporate companies of automotive and other industrial segment , Rasika Lokhande had been trained at Ador Welding Academy, an initiative of Ador Welding Ltd.

She brings honour to millions of women across India and instills the belief that with sincerity and dedication, nothing is impossible.

A story of a woman who excels in a field which is yet to be explored by the young women in India, will surely inspire and encourage more and more women into this field.

As women, we have build homes, now it's time to build nations.
