My mistake is now my purpose!

At fifteen years old I was very active and outgoing in school. I saw teen moms passing by each day with their child or children on their way home from the Women's Centre and never thought much about what they were experiencing.

Couple months later I too became an expected mother, a mistake I thought that was so horrible, that dying would be like a paradise. For nine months I struggled to believe that my life was not over and that I was not an outcast to society. My unborn child shared in my pain as the doctor said \"the baby is in distress\".

Today I am committed to assisting Jamaican teen mothers and their families through my N.G.O. Girls To Women Development Foundation. From my experiences, yes... not my mistake!!! Pushing through school to complete both secondary and tertiary education, I have helped teen mothers to realize their professional dreams and family life realities in a practical way.

I believe my experiences equipped me to help women in distress. To not just sympathize but to also beemphatic...and that is my biggest success in life!!
