This is just a small update from me since my last visit to Washington DC for TED WOMEN CONFERENCE . After I return back, I was awarded a full scholarship for my Master Degree (Master of Arts in Inter-Asia NGO Studies) in South Korea. Living and studying a year in Korea is absolutely incredible experiences that have opened my eyes to a complete new world. I found MAINS as a unique academic institution, not only because the curriculum is in English but MAINS itself is a product of civil society organizations. Now I can say without any hesitation that this is the institution I wanted and have been seeking to study. If I was not here for my Master degree, I can never experience anywhere not even in western countries. You can find more about MAINS experiences here http://sunitabasnet.blogspot.no/2012/09/mains.html
On February I moved to Oslo, Norway to join my husband. I was writing my thesis while staying in Norway. Last month I have graduated from my university. In the meantime, when I was in South Korea, I along with my few other friends started a movement called Wake Up Call for Nepal where we demand the Ministry of Local Development to build physically disabled people friendly buildings in the urban centers of the country and are submitting the letter along with the 10,000 signatures. You can read the special report about wake up call Nepal here http://sunitabasnet.blogspot.no/2012/01/special-report-on-wake-up-call-n...
I along with three other friends from World pulse have also started a new project called Didi Bahini Scholarship for Hope where we provide full scholarship including tuition fees and stationary for 6 underprivileged girls to continue their education. We are hoping to increasing the support if we are to support by any individuals.
I will be writing about my vision and how you can partner me soon, stay update.
