WHO ARE WE?



We are a Non- Governmental Organisation currently based in Ghana. We are dedicated to Research, Advocacy and Empowerment. Our Empowerment project –Train-Coach-Mentor’ seeks to train, coach and mentor girls from difficult backgrounds to achieve their dreams and to implement their social change activities to bring change in their communities.



WHY WE NEED YOU!



We are at the second stage of our ‘Train-Coach-Mentor’ project. At this stage we are pairing the girls we have trained to people they can look up to for support-encouragement, motivation, inspiration knowledge and experience sharing so they can achieve their goals and implement their social change initiatives.



WHO IS A MENTOR OR LIFE COACH?



At Greight Foundation, a mentor or life coach is someone who supports- encourages, motivates and inspire a girl to manage her own learning so that she can maximize her potential, develop her skills, improve her performance and become the person she wants to be or bring the change she wants to see in her community.



WHAT WILL BE MY ROLE (S) EXCATLY?



-You will be paired with a girl who you will communicate with regularly.




  • You will maintain a supportive relationship with the girl based on respect, empathy, listening and encouragement.


  • Help the girl to continue to develop her confidence, skills, potential, talent and networks.


  • You will support the girl to access opportunities and provide encouragement and support for them to achieve their goals



    -Share your knowledge and life experiences




-To counsel and guide when necessary



WILL I HAVE TO GIVE MONEY TO MY MENTEE (S)?



No. You are not expected to give money to your mentee and your mentee is not expected to ask you for money



WHAT SHOULD BE THE MODE OF COMMUNICATION EBTWEEN ME AND MY MENTEE (S)?



For normal girls



-Emails, Letters that can be posted and Phone calls if you wish



For Visually impaired girls



-voice recordings, phone calls



HOW MUCH TIME AM I EXPECTED TO COMMIT TO MENTROING?



As much time as you wish to communicate with your mentee.



It is encouraged that you communicate at least once a month with your mentee



WHO ARE THE GIRLS AM MENTORING?



These are girls from difficult backgrounds including girls from poor homes, girls living in rural communities and physically challenged girls. They are school going girls between the ages of 12-23 years currently living in Ghana.



WILL I PAID?



This is pure voluntary. It is a life time opportunity to touch and transform a life and to raise a leader.



I AM NOT IN GHANA, CAN I STILL BE A MENTOR



Yes you can mentor a girl through exchange of emails, letters and phone calls if you choose. Majority of the girls do not have access to the internet but exchange through letters is possible.



WHO WILL I BE WORKING WITH?



Greight Foundation Team. You will be contacted to find out how your mentoring sessions are going and if you need any support.You can always ask questions, share your experiences, lessons learnt, suggestions etc as well with Greight Foundation.



WHAT TO DO NEXT?



-Send as a short profile of yourself or CV and a passport picture if you have not already so we pair you with a mentee.



-Indicate whether you would like to mentor a normal girl or a visually impaired girl.
